I was in survival mode. I was checking the boxes to get me to bedtime. I was depleted and exhausted and losing my hair. And I had three babies under 2. 🙃
It wasn’t until I started saying NO to activities AND people who didn’t serve me, protecting my energy, truly understanding what daily self-care practices look like, that I was able to start the transition from surviving to thriving.
Wendy, who do you think you are standing in front of thousands of women and telling them how to live their lives?⠀
I legitimately wanted to run out the back door before one of my talks a few years ago. I called my husband and said “I’m gonna come home. I need to get out of here, I’ll tell them I’m really sick. Or better yet I’ll run out the back door and just never show my face here again.”
And do you know what my husband said? “Ok honey!”. His response immediately shifted my perspective.
Wait no, what do you mean ok?
It’s not ok that I let these women down. They’re waiting for me. They need me. They need to HEAR what I have to say. And so I stayed. Lol And the talk was amazing, and I left there with such a full ❤️.
We regret the chances we don’t take, not the ones we do.
There are still times when my imposter creeps back into my brain. Even after getting my doctorate from Stanford, practicing in the field for 13 years, and sharing my face and message with you all each and every day. Still. But who cares? That imposter only has power over you if you let it. So I don’t let it.
And I choose to show up. For YOU. Because you need to hear what I have to say. You need to hear the reminder that you have PERMISSION to change your story, and your life.
You can have balance, you can let go of that inner critic, you can start that business, you can say goodbye to that friendship, you can get in shape, you can let yourself be loved, you can manage your time. You CAN have a life that lights you up. And my mission is to serve you and remind you every damn day what is possible for all of you.
As you travel on your journey of self-love, accomplishment, meaning, and fulfillment take this with you: your best life is the one designed by you. By your strengths, your values, and your goals. Your preferences. Your desires. Your hopes and dreams. No one else’s.
Remember, we get stuck because we’re scared. We get stuck because we’re “comfortable”, because the crappy habits and patterns we’re in are familiar. Yes, change is scary. DO IT ANYWAY.
In times like this, ask yourself these questions:

✨ What is the specific fear I let get in my way?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ Is staying stuck in fear really better than creating the life I actually want?⠀⠀
It’s time to take inventory on how your head is helping and harming you on your journey. Be the change you want to see in your life. No one else will do it for you. ⠀
